It will change medical science on a global basis.
At age 72, although I have no major medical issues, I just wonder if any of these will be available to me in the next 10 years, or so?
Do patients get a say in all that monitoring and data sharing?
You don't get a say in it now.
I know, we should.
None of the comments posted in response to the survey are moot...the survey is moot! How about a drastic reduction in world population? With continued births outnumbering deaths by a landslide, this planet and all in it may be doomed. People need to learn to think with their heads, not with their hearts. Many resources we take for granted are not renewable. Human activity is poisoning too many resources already. As climate change continues its march towards an extinction event by adding even more people...what makes anyone think their children today will have a pleasant future to look forward to let alone a future at all?
without the option of thinking with your heart what's the point
Are you volunteering to remove yourself from the planet? Have you had yourself sterilized yet? Remember, what's good for the gander must be good for the goose. Know what I mean you silly goose?
Good lord you're one of Al Gores silly brainwashed drones aren't you? So now we're "rushing to extinction" all of a sudden? Smoke another bowl and relax because you're worrying about nothing.
You're right, the world is too populated. You should start the trend towards depopulation by offing yourself.
I agree with you, overpopulation is a growing concern. These advances will aid citizens to live fuller, longer and healthier lives. However, with that much less death, how will point population be balanced? I am by no means arguing against technological advances. I am arguing regarding the population crisis and coming to a resolution for a better and more healthy tomorrow.
Everyone talks of climate changes as if it were the end of the world. But the real deal is the world has had less major hurricanes and major floods in the past 100 years. Check your reference guides first, for instance when was the hottest day of the last 100 years and when was the wettest year? We do know this that vechile emissions are bad for human but with all the regulations now on emissions it nowhere near a problem now as it was 40 years ago. The earth magnetic field is in a flipping mode so, to say that birth control will help no one is going buy in to that, we human have no say in that part. Prevention is key to longer sustainable living. The word healthcare should be called sick care because you only use it when your sick not healthy. Drink quality water with minerals, breathing clean air, your air in your home is most likely worst off then a step outside. And good nutritional supplements with good sleep. Bring nature back into your life! Live Well
Why do we have to vote on just one idea? I think they are all fantastic devices and of equal value to future progress of mankind! They are all awesome ideas.
Next can we get science to create shocking pink Kittens and winged horses (boy would that make travel fun.
Also I'd. Like to see more help for people with drug addictions or drug addicts to get them off of drugs they shouldn't use altogether.
Hello Tina, that's what's got us into this mess–thinking with out hearts. Think about what's going to happen to your children and children's children within the next 50 years, then consider the point. In fact, take a moment and do some research into what kind of evidence we have now that may support what's to come.
Scientists have also created drugs that can replace our memories.in the wrong hands these chips are way too dangerous too much can go wrong in a imperfect society. You control these chips you control the world.did somebody say new world order?
Ron,
Get over your paranoia. Replacing memories could actually be beneficial for those suffering from post traumatic stress disorder.
Fixing our DNA would be really a New Beginning for humans, than there would be no need all the other options....
Statistics show that the majority of people do not take their medicine properly through not following directions, missed doses or stop taking it. Taking daily medication often takes a huge amount of time for many people. Medication in a chip would solve these issues resulting healthier happier people. Allowing the medical staff to monitor remotely for side effects can prevent death or further injury.
Another disturbing comment from a patient rights perspective...
I will be as blunt and honest as possible when explaining this vote.
If the ability to repair DNA, which would include, but not limited to, aging, cancer, and many many other human ailments is within our reach.
The human race is evolving at an exponential rate, and we owe it to ourselves as a species to allow this evolution to grow at it's own pace and adapt to it, embrace it, and stop living in the age of old and omit the politics from science.
Science has nothing to do with politics, however, it does have everything to do with ethics. We must police advanced science as we did the nuclear bomb and make sure it is only used for good and advance the human race beyond our planet.
"It's time", I say.. it's time to allow our human race to evolve and grow beyond the stars and leave our old ways behind.
Yes, it is a scary thought to prolong a persons life especially if they are "bad" people, with bad intentions, and therefore, your record of actions as a human being should be considered when saving ones life. If someone were to commit haneous crimes, I don't think that that person's life should be prolonged unless they change their mindset and given a purpose in life, other than to cause harm to other people or our world.
Ethics I say, will govern modern science, not politics.
So, with that said.. let's let the science out. Let's not keep it a secret anymore. Let's colonate Mars, or other places in the heavens. After all... is the Universe not big enough for us? ...
Thanks for listening.

Great ideas!!!!!!!!!!
I especially like the making of new body parts – such as lungs and hearts etc. I have a life altering disease and making one of these body parts would in all likelihood save my life. So I think it is only natural that I would love to see new body parts come to fruition.
I am wondering if our children who are currently in their 40's are going to reap the benefits of living into their 100's!!! It really boggles the mind to even think of it.
By fixing your DNA, we will have more accurate medical reporting. Not Gossip that intends to mislead crowds, sell the report, and market a delusional surgeon. You can't do brain surgery by opening one's mouth without making incision in the mouth.
I am amazed at the concept of 3D printing body parts. I LOVE the potential for understanding and projecting things through this.
3D printing is desperately needed to give hope for life to those who have no other hope.
As seen patients receive chemotherapy, the end, would be great, small children can have a better life, and be in the hospital , for a shorter time, there all great, . yo give you a better life, anything to help children and women and m!end ,is desperately needed
The power of adequate hydration is at the core of all dis-ease yet beneath is the belief with subsequent fallout of living a life contrary to each of our hearts
Maybe with better brain we will be able to learn healing ourselves without outside forces like medicine/surgery/chemotherapy etc. Maybe better brain would allow us to understand and do things that we are not capable of right now. Well, few people may have these abilities even now, while most don't. Hopefully with these abilities we won't require anyone to mess around with our DNA or test their experimental super drugs.
The ability to use a 3-d printer to reproduce exact custom made body parts will dramatically improve the quality of life as well as overall outcomes of patient care and quality of life. I personally have a vested interest in the 3-d printed body parts as my airway has totally collapsed and that is the only viable option for me if I want to live independent of breathing machines. For some people there is no other option. Also, it can be used for cosmetic reasons such as reproducing ears, noses and other non essential for living body parts. I however am most impressed with the ability of a 3 -d printer to recreate an essential for living body part such as an airway
All of these are useful and wonderful, but in the long run, healthier environments would produce fewer health problems. However, all of the, are exciting!
The best would be anything that prevent us in the first place from getting sick
This invention will change the treatment of patients across the board. From patients young to old, to patients who are victim of trauma or disease. Imagine the lives this will change.
Don't need a machine or a "health club." A 40 lb dog who needs a daily two-mile walk functions as my exercise machine. As the dog has slowed down I have added a dozen trips up and down the basement stairs to my daily routine. Lawn care and snow shoveling provide other types of exercise.
I love bicycling and have since I was a kid. I now live in an area where there are no safe bicycling lanes and the city's mayor voted down the possibility to create bike lanes. I guess it was not that important to him. I always wished our country could be more like other countries that respect bicycling. In my opinion it is healthier and cleans up the air from the decrease in autos. Cheaper on the pocket from high gas prices. Biking sure makes your legs strong. I currently have to strap my bike to my car and take it thirty minutes away to ride on a proper bike trail. I cannot do this everyday. If you try to ride in the neighborhood nearby, you stand the chance of being run over. No respect.
With a healthier environment, we would be less concerned about creating medical chips, etc.
Most people will often say we blame the government for everything but I must say, we can't help it! Yes, we can't. Talking about the mayor of a city voting down bills that could be beneficial to the health of a people; what more can I say?
Much of what is proposed seems good, but in reference to another comment, we did not regulate nuclear energy, and many countries threaten to wipe out others. People should read Jurassic Park (not watch) and consider if science, inside or outside of politics, has any self-control. Neither science nor politics seems to look at long range consequences of what they can do. Befor leaping on any bandwagon for scientific advances, we ought to think of all possible consequences, distant and immediate. Then decide if able to means should.
If they can fix your DNA, that alone will fix/cure so many diseases, birth defects and change all of medicine as we know it today.
Both cancer and autoimmune illnesses have a major environmental. Cancer is a no-brainer, but take a hard look at the pandemic if increasing incidence rates of autoimmunity, and the growing list of serious illnesses that are coming undet the umbrella of autoimmunity and inflammatory conditions. Find and get rid of the environmental components and a sizable portion of illnesses will be gone.
There is so much cancer. Curing it easily is a big thing.
It's crazy, isn't it? I have seen statistics that indicate one out of every three women and one out of every two men will get cancer in their lives. In the western world. That just boggles the mind.
My son has Tracheobronchomalacia. Dr Glenn Green and his team have already saved 2 babies by creating a airway stent with a 3D printer.
I think that not only will this health issues from the inside out, but it will lead to all kinds of new ideas to use this technology (good and bad).
The end of chemotherapy and 3-D printed body parts are most interesting to me as I approach 50. But overall, I think the ability to fix a person's DNA would eliminate many of the problems that would require new body parts or cancer treatment.
Think of it this way though... If someone suffer's a catastrophic injury, one that severely damages or destroy's a organ, you could have all the DNA modification in the world to it, and it won't put humpty-dumpty back together again. With 3-D printing, you could possibly save that same individual. Keep them alive, life support-if they were or had chosen this option-while a new organ is made. When done, install the newly made replacement organ. Think, "The Island" only, with zero requirement or need for making the clones for all that. Just make one specific item/body part.
Voting for better cancer treatment really needs explaining?
PS several of these sound downright scary in a Big Brother kinda way – no thx on the "Borg implants" for example. I'm not so lazy/absent-minded that I can't remember to take the meds I'm supposed to.
Why arent we working with what we already have? Each person is born with a specific set of DNA. Lets keep it and use it to reset our DNA at certain times. Native Americans have used this technology for thousands of years.
Helo
I vote for 3D printed body parts. I have been following Dr Glenn Green and am truly amazed at his work with the 3D trachea. My daughter has tracheobronchomalacia among other things and I pray one day this will be available to all newborns who suffer so terribly
It is feasible to have surgery done with minimal side effect. It will always be something that goes wrong, as such we need to have means how to repair it. It is great to prevent or lead into the right direction, but road to perfection is impossible. By doing microscopic intervention, it gives us more confidence to experiment other methods.

A better fight with cancer, a fight with less damage on the patient
As someone with fibromyalgia and supra ventricular tachycardia or SVT, I take a handful of pills 3-4 times a day. Meds get forgotten or I run out and have problems with the insurance company not wanting to fill bc I don't want to fill at their pharmacy(CVS United Healthcare). Going through all this I sometimes feel like I'm on a medicine rollercoaster. How nice it would be to have a chip deliver everything all at the right times. I might be able to get some of my life back. I will just cross my fingers, hope, and pray that this becomes a reality, sooner than later!
All of the incredible advancements in cures and preventative meds are amazing. But the greatest preventative measure we can take will be to encourage regression in our living spaces, public spaces and amenities from dangerous and unproductive materials and activities. The sedentary era is new. We can avoid it with ease, and much to our benefit.
The site admin should make provisions for more than a single vote... Anyways, fixing of DNA, creating a healthy environment, Training our brains and making 3D organs are the best innovations that will go a long way to preserving the human race.
These have little or no side effects. I am going to be particular about brain training and healthy environments because with these in place, there won't be a need for all those humanity destroying ideas i.e chip implant etc.
It was a helpful post. Thanks...Reiki Healing
The biggest and most valuable advancement of these ten, would be DNA modding and 3-D organ printing. Hand-in-hand, those two alone would change and subsume pretty much everything else in this list.
One of the benefits, of 3-D printing tissue (Or possibly, even bone) is that you can take a sample of a "patients" own cells, then turn around and use them to make the replacement organ out your own tissue. Maybe-in conjunction of the DNA-modding, of course-even adjust and fix a issue with it. Maybe it was a genetic defect that caused the initial problem? Maybe it was damage done from trauma or other outside stimulus?
Sky's the limit.
What's more, you could further enhance or modify a 3-D printed organ. Lungs not strong/large enough to function properly? Increase their capacity or efficiency. Heart not strong enough? Make another or a double-set system out of it instead of one.
To digress, time will tell, just what wonders (and yes, sadly sometimes in science, even nightmares) this will hold for humanity.
Here's hoping it's a good one.
I have an Automatic Defibrillator IMPLANT in my chest after a serious Heart Attack at age 50 (I died and was revived) – as now part of a Study measuring/monitoring the 'ST-Segment" of my EKG via an At-Home Device hooked to my phone and monitoring my Implant Wirelessly, this is but one example of how the technology is here, helpful and can save lives TODAY!
One Study Participant needed 2 Emergency STENTS implanted immediately based on information gleaned from this Implant's Information on the ST-Segment. The Study is in it's infancy and it saved his life – before such information was so immediately and readily available, he would have died. PS – I survived with only a 6% statistical chance after 'heroic' efforts, including Induced Hypothermia!
also I vote for "end of chemotherapy" and any kind of diseases. All of three will save lives becuz these are hard to find specific of diagnosis. Scalp-free operation and chemical free...less messy and painless.
We definitely need to get rid of the constant and un necessary use of super drugs. People now are pumped so full of antibiotics from it being in all of our foods and dr's passing it out like its candy, that when we do get sick our bodies natural immune systems are so broken down that we can't even fight off the common cold or flu. Super drugs including the ridiculous amounts of vaccines people are forced into getting now. The CDC and WHO consider a vaccine to be affective only if the person who received one, has developed even the tiniest amount of antibodies from it. They don't go by if the vaccine actually works and prevents whatever it's claiming to prevent. And vaccines obviously don't even stay in a persons system for very long at all. They wear off very quickly actually. That's why you have to get 4 booster shots after already having a vaccine as a child. And then you're told to get your ADULT vaccines too! Plus adult boosters for those vaccines. And they aren't anything new or different, they're the same ones you received as a child plus already had multiple boosters for. We have natural immune systems for a reason, but having hundreds of vaccines with all of their toxins being injected into us repeatedly in doses that are "one size fits all" has made people so weak, chronically sick, and left with a lifetime of seeing specialists and having to take medications, that we don't even have a decent natural functioning immune system any more. So people end up seeing more doctors and taking more medication which most of just gets rid of a few symptoms, but the underlying health problems are still there. It's just a vicious circle that never ends. Back about 35 years ago, people didn't get even a quarter of the vaccines that are given out now to babies in their first year of life. One year of vaccines for a baby now was all that were given back then for an entire life! People didn't even get chicken pox vaccines, they just got the pox, felt itchy and got over it. Same thing with many others. It's disgusting the amount of a single dose vaccine has in it and is being given to brand new babies that aren't even an hour old yet. Even the vitamin K shot is potent enough for a 200 pound man! Yes! 200 pounds! All vaccines are the same way. And they are being given to 3, 5, 7, pound brand new babies. And to children who's brains haven't even finished developing yet. It's a proven fact that vaccines cause the demilenization of the in the brain, paving the way for neurological disorders to occur. And that's exactly what's causing autism too. That is why you see some children who've been vaccinated without autism, and the rest do have it. It's like playing Russian roulette with a loaded gun. Genetics or environmental might load the gun, but vaccines pull the trigger. It has to stop. If we want people to be healthy and not sick or super obese, then we should be educating everyone about the importance of sanitation, staying clean, hand washing, brushing teeth, eating healthy, coughing or sneezing into their arm or tissue instead of their hands or in the air, and physical activity; instead of injecting the masses with toxic vaccines. And healthy foods need to be more available and cost less money than fast food. We need people to build up and keep their own natural immune systems healthy and strong. You can build all the steps and take away all the elevators you want to, but it's not going to do anyone a bit of good unless they have natural healthy immune systems to keep them healthy and get rid of about 99% of fast food joints and replace them with affordable fresh fruits and vegetables in our grocery stores. This is all common sense··· but sadly common sense isn't so common anymore. And I'm sure someone is going to fully disagree with my post, or it might even get deleted··· but, people need to wake up and do some research about what's going into their bodies instead of just taking a doctors word for it that it's the best thing for them.
