So we are all getting sicker....the costs will never come down when the cause of bad health is never addressed. If we think pills and bad eating is health, good luck. When your insurance only pays for disease care thats a problem. If they were smart they would try to help prevent disease but they are not interested in that. so then what is the motive of those companies?
So I started taking this quiz because I thought it was based in fact. Instead, it turned out to be nothing more than political propaganda and support for President Obama's political agenda. Really CNN...really?
@TRG, yeah, I noticed the exact same thing about 3 steps into the slide show. What do you expect, CNN (and MSNBC, ABC, CBS) are simply propaganda machines for the left. Everyone knows that.....
Ok....I thought this was a "health" quiz. It was basically about Obama and his State of the Union Address, which I didn't listen too. I generally don't like being lied to, and with his track record, I decided it was best to go to the gym instead.

This quiz does not test one's knowledge of health at all.
The fact that a 26-year-old can remain on a parent's health insurance is insane (and a nice little contributing factor to higher health insurance premiums). Not being far from that age myself, I feel perfectly justified in saying, get up, get out and GET A JOB! Get your own health insurance. Yes, there are lean times. Yes, there are times when you may have to pay very high premiums for self-insurance or pay your bills yourself, but if you can't even get off your lazy butt and work...forget it! We are turning in a a nation of baby-coddlers. We need to pay for everyone's education (I paid for my own). We need to pay for everyone's health care (I pay my own premiums and paid for my own when I wasn't insured). We need to bail everyone out of those mortgages they took out and couldn't afford (I'm still saving for a nice down payment on a house). Is there anything else anyone would like us to pay for?
I would like to pay for you to get a clue....is that possible? Probably not...based on your post, that would likely be expensive. Go back to wherever you got your associates degree from and ask them for a refund. It didn't take.
Hey Blue, you dips-hit....these folks don't remain on their parents insurance for FREE. Nor are they subsidized by taxpayers in any way. They still pay premiums, same as anyone else. It simply gives them an opportunity to QUALIFY for insurance through their parents policy while they are unemployed or seeking a higher degree. "Hey, my parents didn't love me and give me a break, so no one else should get one either." Don't be so freakin' bitter.
You must have no idea how expensive health insurance is. If you don't work for a large company you're kind of screwed. My parents are well educated professionals but they work for small companies and have to pay for their own insurance. They are paying around $700 a month and they're both healthy. It's just a fact that not everyone can afford insurance. I'm fortunate that I work for a large company and only pay around $90 a month for great insurance. I don't know that I could afford insurance if it wasn't being payed for by my employer, and I'm college educated. I'm all for personal responsibility, but health care shouldn't only be available to those that can afford it. Health care is treated as a commodity in this country and it shouldn't be. Our health care providers are the best in the world, but our system is broken and it's costing people their lives.
Such hostility. First, my parents loved me very much. Enough to instill a work ethic in me and teach me about personal responsibility. (That's probably why I have a masters in chemistry and an MBA – not the piddly little associates degree you seem to think I have.) Second, just because they pay premiums doesn't mean it doesn't raise everyone's premiums. ESPECIALLY, at those small companies of which you speak that have very little negotiating power (their insurance costs are DIRECTLY related the amount paid in claims). More people. More claims. More cost to the companies. More cost passed on to the employees. I long for a day when children were expected to make their OWN way in the world (ups and downs) and not go running back to mommy and daddy for every little bump they experience. I thank god my parents taught me that one of the MOST important characteristics an individual can have is SELF-reliance (not reliance upon society to take care of you because life is too hard...aww).
My 22 YO HAS A JOB!!! TWO in fact! and each one of them she's considered p/t!!! Despite the fact she works over 50 hours a week, usually 40+ hours on just one job. In this area (the bowels of Michigan) there are NO full time jobs and on both of them she only gets minimum wage. Start doing the math BlueK, "cheap" insurance for her is over $500 a month with a very high deductible. She has a cheap car that is now falling apart, she pays over $200 a month for car insurance and she is NOT getting her travel expenses from one of her employers. She pays over $40 a week in gas, and it's going up now. Yes she is on our insurance but we're also paying close to $300 a month for it.

Our health care is headed toward the socialistic care of Canada. Great, you say? I have worked in Canada, and at the time taxes were a mere 52%, plus a 10% surcharge on the total tax. This was in 1995. I entered the health care system there with a possibility of cancer. It only took 14 months for them to tell me that I did not have it. Be careful what you wish for, you may just get it.
Bush is the one that put us in this recession – not Obama. Clinton left us with a decent economy. Bush was so hot to trot on his WMD and getting Sadam plus no one on his staff had the backbone to tell him the truth, even if they did, he wouldn't listen. I had a super job till he got elected – his 'war' caused 80% of the staff to get laid off because the funds went to a war that was only 'revenge' for his father (who was just as bad). Obviously he was able to control congress and the house because they didn't have the balls to say no to him either.
And this quiz was stupid – it was all about who listened to the state of the union.
