Actress: I got compliments for looking emaciated

Actress Rosario Dawson has some pointed words about expectations on women and their bodies.

"It's a form of violence in the way that we look at women and the way we expect them to look and be for what sake? Not for health, survival, not for enjoyment of life, but just so you could look pretty," Dawson told Shape Magazine.

Dawson who appears on the August cover discussed industry-wide pressures to maintain an ideal body type.  After losing weight to play a drug addict dying of HIV/AIDS in the 2005 film "Rent," she was stunned to hear compliments about her  figure. FULL POST

Editor's note: Dr. Drew Pinsky, a board-certified internist, regularly interviews people in the spotlight to learn more about their emotional lives.  Bristol Palin will be Dr. Drew’s guest on a special edition of "Dr. Drew" on HLN Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.

What is congestive heart failure?

For years  Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor had struggled with congestive heart failure, a chronic condition in which the weakened heart cannot pump enough blood throughout the body.

Taylor, 79,  died Wednesday at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles after six weeks of hospitalization, her publicist said.

Congestive heart failure occurs when the heart can no longer keep pace with circulation needs. And I remember my mom making dinner for me the first night that I was on this new program, and I burst out crying because the vegetables were green, and I thought she was trying to starve me to death.”
