Human Factor: Getting fit as an exampleIn the Human Factor, we profile survivors who have overcome the odds. Confronting a life obstacle, they tapped their inner strength and found resilience they didn’t know they possessed. This week Dr. Sanjay Gupta hears from Dr. Scott Zahn, who completed the CNN Fit Nation Triathlon Challenge on Sunday at the Nautica New York City Triathlon. Zahn, a pediatrician, wanted to lose weight and be a better example to his patients. Watch how he succeeded. |

Americans, don't think about weight. Just walk a lot, really a lot always until you suffer, and don't drink too much sweet stuff. Live that way without thinking about weight.
We need transformation of heart, not just body. Your godly grandmothers were always right. Americans, you wrecked your own nation by refusing to listen to older people. Your grandparents were better than you in almost everything.
Is that the grandma that gave me incipient emphysema as a child and later died of COPD or the native american indian that had the massive heart attack in her 50's because of poor diet and no exercise? Your statements are too broad to apply to all Americans. I firmly believe that we cannot be good stewards of peoples health when were not in good shape ourselves. I work in healthcare and practice what i preach!
"you either do, or you do not. There is no try" That is a quote from Star Wars where ancient Yoda is trying to instruct the young Luke in the ways of the force on that silly planet of Dagoba. Sounds like fiction you say? Look at ANY survivor in ANY situation and you will see that this is ALWAYS the case. They either do or they do not. If you try to survive you will die.
It's nice to see a few doctors taking care of their own health. By and large, my docs are fit, but I've had a couple who aren't. It's hard to take someone's health advice seriously when they obviously aren't taking care of their own health.
